I am back from the 2014 Society of American Mosaic Artists conference and on FIRE!!
5 days in Houston and I am so excited to be back working in the studio and teaching workshops. I learned so much at the conference, met some incredibly talented artists and saw some great friends.
The SAMA conference is a great way for me to get energized and fired up and come back and put that energy into my work and my teaching. If you have ever considered going to a conference don’t wait.
On to the SBSMA business……workshops, workshops, workshops!
SBSMA is introducing it’s first evening series workshop. It will be a Garden Sphere/Boulder workshop. Tuesday evenings from 6p-9p May 13th, 20th, 27th and June 3rd. This is a great way to enjoy a few evenings of being creative, making a functional piece of art and having your weekends free! There are a few spaces left in this workshop, but don’t wait!
Are you ready to dive in and take an amazing workshop from one of the best visiting artists?
This summer if you and a few friends would like to spend an evening making a small mosaic wall hanging in 3 hours while enjoying a little wine and cheese, then the “Ladies who Mosaic” is the perfect thing for you! Email or call for more details.
If you are interested in a gift for Mother’s day, Birthdays or any other celebration SBSMA has gift certificates for any amount!
Listed below are just some of the workshops coming up here at SBSMA! Check the schedule for plenty more!

“LADIES WHO MOSAIC”
7 friends came together for a fun 3 hour get together just to hang out and create mosaic art. In that short but busy time they chose their colors and design and began nipping. They used stained glass on 7″x7″ boards to create their fun and unique pieces. They all went home with their own piece of mosaic art.
If you would like to get a group of your friends together for a birthday party, bachelorette party or just for a fun and creative time, email Tami for details.
TESTIMONIALS
Like a Zen Master, Tami floats among the students, helping where necessary and coaching us to perfect our works of art. I’m impressed she has remembered all our names! She shows us how to shape the ceramic pieces to best fit into spaces on our boards. H.H.
Hi Tami- I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the mosaic workshop last weekend. The class was fun and the outdoor setting was perfect. I am spreading the word around town 🙂 E.S.

Tami’s Latest Commissions
“Lion, for me?”
Approx. 27″x16″. Created on WEDI board using sentimental and found objects as well as glass fusions, stained glass, dichoric glass, Mexican smalti, millefiori and mirror. The mortar and grout are tinted with SBSMA liquid tint.
“Ginni the swirling sun part deux”
This is the second swirling sun I had the honor of making. There is now one on each side of the chimney. This one I added more bling with beads, found objects and eyelashes. It is purposefully tilting..
