Today is the final day of the Kelley Knickerbocker Strata Various workshop. What a great success. Each student made their own sample boards. Learning to work with tinted mortar and self made mesh/mortar substrates. Students worked quickly to create the substrates that they would then create sample boards using only black/white tesserae in a variety of materials. Learning to cut different textures, working with setting them to create a conversation between the tesserae and the space between them. Here are 2 unedited quick videos of Kelley explaining how the different shapes can be set and why! I highly recommend this workshop and anything else Kelley has to offer. She is a valuable wealth of knowledge and incredible talent in our mosaic community
