Greetings!

Well here we come 2012!  December flew by so fast and now, with so much happening, January is starting to slip by quickly too.  2012 has started out with a bang and will continue into a very exciting art filled year! 

 

  • Table Top, the first workshop of the year is sold out
  • The Beginner workshop is sold out and
  • The Pet Portrait workshop is almost sold out  

 As you can see workshops fill up quickly with everyone’s excitement of creating mosaic art pieces.  There is so much excitement about the Martin Cheek glass mosaic workshop that there are only 2 spots left for the weekend of February 25th & 26th. 

 

However, there are so many students who have expressed a desire to learn with Martin that he has agreed to teach the same workshop on Thursday and Friday,  February 23 and 24th.  If you are interested in those days please email or call soon as we expect that workshop to fill up as well.  There are many other workshops that are available in the coming weeks and months.  Go to www.santabarbaraschoolofmosaicart.com  schedule page to see a full list of upcoming workshops. 

Again I want to express my gratitude to all of my students….if it weren’t for your interest and love for mosaics Santa Barbara School of Mosaic Art would not exist.  Here’s to an amazing 2012!!

LAB has been a very busy place this last year!  Laurel is the third student I would like to take a minute and profile.  Laurel has a very unique style of mosaic art and is very attracted to 3D mosaic.  You will see much of her work has found objects such as jewelery or religious items placed inside or right on top of her grouted pieces.

Laurel has been LAB regular for almost two  years and has shown such incredible growth in her work. Here are just a few of the pieces she has created.

 Recent Publicity 

Starting in December Santa Barbara School of Mosaic Art and All Cracked Up Mosaics will be featured on the Santa Barbara local cable show called “Living Local”.  If you are in SB and have cox cable stay tuned, if you are not in SB it will be available on the Santa Barbara School of Mosaic Art Facebook page as well.

SBSMA LAB punch card.  For every 10 hours of LAB time you get the 11th hour free.  Students are loving their punch cards and getting their free hours. 

LAB time is a great way to work on all your mosaic projects.  For $20/hour you have access to all adhesives, grout, tools and my time as well as not worrying about making a mess.

 SBSMA has all your mosaic art supply needs. More new colors added to the tile collection as well as stained glass. There are new tools stocked up as well as nippers, files, adhesives and grouts.  Just added are Leponitt brand mosaic wheel nippers for $28.95.
